Time Flies...

Niko is getting SO big, SO fast.  This summer has been crazy and clearly just from the lack of updates to our blog, I don't have time to do anything!  In between my juggling summer school(Yuck!) and work, Niko has taken off running(literally).  Just in the last month, he started crawling, pulling himself up, standing and jumping in his crib instead of sleeping, walking/running around while holding on to people's fingers, and deliberately throwing things that he knows he shouldn't be(like his bottle).    My favorite new thing that he is doing is sleeping through the night!  I forgot what it feels like to get a full night's sleep!!
I'm so sad that I can't be with him all the time, especially since I've been having to leave lately to study and work for long periods of time.  Every moment with him is so precious even if he is throwing a fit(or his bottle) and I can't believe he's already such a big boy.
Here's a picture from our last photo shoot in the backyard.

NEW CAMERA!!!

My new camera finally came.  The Canon Powershot d10.  It takes really amazing pictures AND its waterproof/shockproof/Niko-proof/Me-proof(since I have a tendency to break things).  Here are some pictures that I took this morning during our morning walk and yesterday in Amanda's pool.  Can't wait to take more!

First Haircut

Niko got his first official haircut (besides Uncle Mikey's pruning shears trim) at Little Kuts in Pasadena.  He was so happy the entire time as you can see from the photos and didn't make a fuss at all.  He loved it and he was very coopertive.  He looks so old and grown up now. =(  No more tiny little baby.

Granada Park

He didn't want to smile , but here are some pictures from the park a couple blocks from our house.

Slinky

Niko got treated to a shopping spree today at Target and Toys R Us.  We bought him all kinds of fun stuff and the only thing he really cared about was the slinky.  He thought it was the coolest thing since baby food.

The Morning Routine

Niko and I have a a morning routine, but it pretty much stops there.  He definitely isn't the baby that goes down for a nap at exactly the same time every day or goes to bed at the same time every night.  Ever since he was a newborn, he couldn't really follow a schedule.  I never really tried too hard either.  He goes to sleep when he's tired and he eats when he's hungry...that's what I do so he might as well also.   =)  Nothing in our lives is scheduled and every day is totally different.
Anyway, our morning routine is: wake up around 6:30 or 7 am, play for a little while, Niko eats mashed banana and oatmeal, play some more, Niko starts rubbing his eyes around 8, and WE go back to sleep until 10.  Then we go for a walk.  Perfect morning.

Here is the gorgeous view from our room in Palm Springs and us sharing a nice big bed.  Too bad it isn't big enough for Daddy too. =(

Niko's Water Park.

For a 1/2 birthday present, Nino bought Niko this water thing.  I don't really know what it is, but it has a slide, a cave, a dolphin to sit on, a ring stacker, and it shoots water all over the place.  It's pretty amazing and hopefully Niko will get more out of it than a blow up pool.  We spent an hour blowing the darn thing up only to find out that the water was way too cold for the little man.  Another day...
